Win98 Driver for Brother HL-2140

The Brothers are the GDI printer's make something more complicated. Here is what I found online for installing Brother HL-2140 with Win 98.

Option 1:

I'll have a Brother HL-2040 times established under Win98 SE. When the HL-2140 is the successor, then maybe do the printer of the HL-2040 from here:

I hope you know how to install a printer driver under Windows even against the will of Windows. But perhaps it is also directly.

Option 2:

If you're good, maybe even find a generic PCL driver for Win98, the PPDs eats. Then it could be with a PPD (configuration data sample) from here.

Something will find it. But that the printer has no driver support so that Win98 and that's that way on the Brother site. One need not then complain if the printer does not offer a driver. There might even be commercial $ (= $) printer driver, the upgrade for this money under Win98.

How to Install the HP LaserJet 1018 USB in Ubuntu

Recently I've purchase a 2nd hand laser printer "HP laserjet 1018" from ebay and also the toner cartridges there. I did a research online and find some way to make a HP LaserJet 1018 work on Linux with the driver foo2zjs.

I put the printer connected directly to the computer, and then began the process of installing the driver.

1. Downloading the package:
   $ Wget http://foo2zjs.rkkda.com/foo2zjs.tar.gz
   
   
2. Unpacking:
   $ tar-xpzvf foo2zjs.tar.gz
   
   
3. Going into the driver directory:
   $ cd foo2zjs
   
   
4. Compiling:
   $ make
   
   
5. Downloading the firmware of the printer:
   $. /getweb 1018
   
   
6. Installing:
   $ sudo make install
   $ sudo make install-hotplug
   

Soon after the printer hung up and called again.

I restarted CUPS:
$ sudo /etc/init.d/cups restart

Installed and Ready! the HP laserjet 1018 worked perfectly now!~.

HP's new Web services for printers

To stand out from its competitors, such as Brother printer & Okidata printers, HP unveiled this week a set of solutions to a new line of printers connected to the Internet, which will allow not only access to content through devices such as remote printing, ordered from a device like a smartphone, for example . 

Each device is assigned an email address to which you can send from the phone, pictures or other files that you want to print. 

The equipment also has a link to the HP Web site - the ePrintCenter - from which customers can "order" to your printer to make an impression, or schedule it to perform certain tasks at a certain time, such as printing Each morning of the securities that are the timeliness of news sites. 

The software also allows the printers directly access cloud services from Google, like Google Docs, Calendar and Photos. Users will still be able to download third party applications, which include names like Facebook, Reuters, Live Nation, Crayola, Docstoc and Picasa, the company has advanced.
